Jerry Lavine is EVP and Chief Program Officer for DURA Automotive Systems LLC. In this role he is responsible for global program execution to ensure cost, quality and timing requirements are achieved across the enterprise. Jerry’s strong leadership skills, coupled with his passion for realizing efficient product development to defined targets, make him well-suited to champion DURA’s world-class program management structure.
Jerry has an extensive automotive program management and product development background. Prior to joining DURA, he was VP of Global Key Account Management for Henkel Corporation where he led account strategies, collaborating with corporate groups for product planning, innovation and business planning. Prior to this role, he was VP of Engineering at Next Autoworks, a startup backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Google Ventures, T. Boone Pickens and others. In this position, he led vehicle development processes and championed engineering disciplines to reduce costs and accelerate timing.
Jerry began his career at Ford Company where he spent over 15 years progressing through the ranks of product development management. His most recent role at Ford was Chief Engineer for Full-Size Cars, North American Car and Truck Programs. In this position, he led Lean Engineering and Manufacturing activities focused on reducing waste, improving utilization rates, and raising quality performance. Prior to this role, he was Chief Engineer, Design Engineering–North American Car & Truck Programs.
Jerry earned his BSME from the State University of Binghamton, his Master of Engineering from Cornell University, and his Master of Science in Management and Engineering from Massachusetts Inst. of Technology.
